Privacy Policy

How information is handled when you use Vimoty, described as the site actually works today.

Effective date: September 2, 2026

1. Scope

This policy explains how information is handled when you visit the Vimoty website. It describes the site as it works today: a public, informational website with no user accounts, no newsletter, no advertising and no payment features.

If the site later adds functionality that changes how information is handled, this policy will be updated before or when that functionality goes live.

2. Information you submit

To look up requirements you select an origin, a destination, a pet type and, for some destinations, additional details such as a destination state or whether your dog has been in a listed high-risk country. These selections are used to retrieve and display the matching requirements.

You are not asked for your name, address, contact details or your pet's identity, and you should not include personal information in these selections.

3. Technical and log data

Like most websites, requests to Vimoty are processed by hosting and content-delivery infrastructure that records standard technical information such as the IP address making the request, the requested URL, timestamps, referrer and user-agent details.

This data is generated by the infrastructure that serves the site and is used to deliver pages, keep the service available and secure, and diagnose errors. It is not used to build advertising or marketing profiles.

4. Cookies and local storage

Vimoty does not use advertising, analytics or cross-site tracking cookies. The site may use strictly necessary browser storage for basic technical purposes, such as keeping the interface working correctly while you use it.

You can clear or block browser storage in your browser settings. Doing so does not prevent you from reading the site.

5. Contact communications

If you contact us, we process what you send us — for example your message, the correction you are reporting and any contact address you choose to include — in order to read, review and reply to it.

Messages may be kept for as long as needed to handle the request and to keep a record of corrections made to published information.

6. Service providers

Vimoty relies on third-party infrastructure providers to operate: a hosting and content-delivery platform that serves the website, and a managed database service that stores the requirement, destination and airline policy content shown on the site.

These providers process technical request and query data on our behalf so that the site can function. They are not permitted to use it for their own marketing.

7. International processing

Our infrastructure providers may process data in, or transfer it to, countries outside your own, including outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers, such as standard contractual clauses or an equivalent transfer mechanism.

8. Legal bases

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies, the processing described above rests on our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving a public informational website, and — for correspondence — in responding to messages you send us. Strictly necessary storage is used to deliver the service you requested.

9. Retention

Technical and log data is retained only for as long as it is useful for delivery, security and troubleshooting, in line with the retention behaviour of the infrastructure providers used. Correspondence is retained for as long as needed to deal with the matter it concerns.

10. Security

The site is served over encrypted connections and content is stored with managed providers that offer access controls and encryption in transit. No online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to a site of this kind.

11. Third-party links

Vimoty links to official government, veterinary and airline pages. Once you follow a link, the destination site's own privacy practices apply. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for how they handle your information.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data relating to you, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority.

Because the site does not use accounts and does not ask for identifying details, we may hold little or no information that can be linked to you. If you contact us about a request, please describe what you are asking for as precisely as possible.

13. Children

Vimoty is intended for adults planning travel with a pet. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

14. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the site develops. The effective date above indicates when the current version took effect.

15. Contact

Questions about this policy, or requests relating to personal data, can be sent to contact@vimoty.com.
