About Vimoty
An independent knowledge platform for understanding the requirements of travelling globally with your dog or cat.
What Vimoty does
Vimoty brings together the pieces people usually have to gather from many different places: destination entry requirements, the documents a dog or cat needs, the pet policies of individual airlines, and links to the official sources behind them.
The aim is a clearer reading experience. Instead of moving between government notices, veterinary guidance and airline pages, you can see how the requirements for a journey fit together, and then follow the official links to confirm the detail.
How we work
Our research is oriented around official sources: government and veterinary authorities for entry requirements, and airlines' own published policies for cabin, hold and cargo transport. Where a page summarises a rule, we link to the source it came from so you can read it yourself.
We record when information was last reviewed. We do not claim that our coverage is complete, that it is updated in real time, or that it replaces reading the official rules for your own journey.
Rules change, so please verify
Pet travel requirements depend on the country you are leaving, the country you are entering, the species and history of your pet, and the airline and route you choose. They can also change at short notice, sometimes without public notice.
Always confirm the current requirements with the relevant authorities and with your airline before you book and before you travel.
Our independence
Vimoty is an independent publisher. We are not a government authority, an airline, a veterinary practice, a law firm or a pet relocation agency, and we are not affiliated with any of them unless a page says so explicitly.
We do not issue documents, approve travel, or arrange transport for animals. What we can do is help you understand what is normally required, and point you to the people and organisations who decide.
